How to encourage golden retriever's hair growth?
My 3 and a half year old golden retriever is female and has quite a short coat (slightly longer than labs) , as compared to other retrievers. I’ve seen her parents before and both of them have thick and long coats(bushy tails, long hair at the hind legs and chest). How do I encourage her hair growth?

If she’s 3 and has a shorter coat, she’s probably stuck with it.
However, you can try frequent baths… About once a month, and daily brushing. It helps stimulate the skin and follicles.
It could be that she has a short coat. Since Goldens aren’t like Poodles or Bichons, whose hair needs to be cut every 4 weeks because it keeps growing – they do not shed their coats – there isn’t anything you can give her to encourage hair growth. However…..Thyroid disease is very common in Goldens and one of the side effects is a very poor coat. It will be dry and short and sometimes thin. Of course there are other symptoms but this is usually the first one…owners don’t usually associate it with anything "medical" so it goes undiagnosed until other problems develop…it is detected with a blood test. Dogs with thyroid disease are put on medication and once regulated – their coat fills in and thickens up – becoming shiny and healthy.
